How to get started
Before proceeding with the steps below, you’ll want to get your print shop set and ready to go on your website. Pigeon Printhouse operates different than other POD services you may have heard of. Rather than requiring you to use our platform to create your listings, you’ll create your listings through whatever platform you choose (i.e. Shopify, Etsy, Squarespace, etc.) and then you’ll proceed with the steps below. This allows you to maintain full authority over your print shop.
After registering, onboarding to Pigeon Printhouse’s POD service can take as little as an hour from start to finish. Our onboarding process involves the following steps:
Step 1: Choose your membership
Register/Subscribe to one of our three Full Fledge membership options – Launch, Lite, or Pro (see more below).
Step 2: Complete a short onboarding process
After you register, within 24-hours a PPH flock member will be in touch. You’ll be provided with a short onboarding packet that you’ll fill out and sign. When you return the packet, you’ll share the hi res image files we’ll need on-hand to fulfill your orders, and finally, if you’re a Lite or Pro member, you’ll complete a quick integration process.
Step 3: Let your print shop fly!
After the onboarding process is complete, your print shop will be ready for take off! As your orders come in, we’ll fulfill them for you within 2 to 4-business days. Pigeon Printhouse will invoice you on a weekly basis for any orders received or fulfilled within each billing period. Being a print-on-demand member with Pigeon Printhouse requires you to have a credit card on file with us at all times.
Do you live outside of the U.S.?
If you answered “YES,” our services are available to you, too!
Working with Pigeon Printhouse as an artist/photographer living outside of the U.S. offers all the same services as artists receive here in the states, but there are a few unique options and logistics that would pertain to you:
Order Fulfillment Options
You can choose to have Pigeon Printhouse fulfill all of your orders, OR we can fulfill orders going to specific geographical locations (i.e. United States, Canada, Australia)
Shipping Label Return Address
Because it is not possible to create a shipping label with a return address outside of the country the package is shipped from, return addresses listed on shipping labels for artists living outside of the U.S. will contain our business address. The return address will still use your (business) name, so from your customer’s perspective, the package will appear to be shipped from you (Pigeon Printhouse’s name nor branding will be anywhere in or on your POD packages). The only time this address is used by couriers is if a package needs to be returned to sender for any reason (i.e. the provided customer address is undeliverable, the customer does not claim their package, etc).
The address listed on the return label is not the same address used for whatever return policy you may have for your customers. So, it would not interfere with your return policy or your return operations. If you allow returns, you can still provide your customers with instructions and a return address that returns their prints directly to you. Pigeon Printhouse does not accept customer returns at this time.

FAQs
Who is Pigeon Printhouse’s print-on-demand service ideal for?
Our POD Full Fledge membership options are ideal for those who already have an online print shop. So, you’ve either been selling prints via your website for awhile or you just got it going.
Who is each membership level ideal for?
Our Launch membership is ideal for someone who may have just gotten their print shop started and/or sells less than 25 prints per month – or for those who don’t wish to connect PPH to their website(s), OR for those who have print shops on plaforms we are unable to connect to. This is a seamless, manual dropship service where you’re able to sell prints on any number of websites, and you simply send us a spreadsheet with the data for orders you’d like us to fulfill, as needed.
(NOTE: If you’d like to automate your print shop, but you don’t currently sell 25 prints or more per month, we have a “direct connect” option for our Lite membership. This option does require you to provide our team with your login information to your website. The reason for this is, the “direct connect” route bypasses our API software and connects directly to our order fulfillment software, which establishes its connection to your shop on the authority of your login credentials. So, if you’d like to automate your print shop and are okay with sharing this confidential information with our team, you’re welcome to sign-up for Lite and we’ll “direct connect.”)
Our Lite membership is ideal for those who wish to automate one print shop that sells more than 25 prints per month (on average). This is a fully automated print-on-demand dropship service that requires an API connection to your website (it requires zero coding from you, and it’s so simple to do, it’s silly).
Our Full Fledge Pro membership is ideal for those who sell prints through one premium platform, or through multiple platforms – each selling more than 25 prints per month (on average). This is an automated print-on-demand dropship service that requires an API connection to your website(s).
What are the requirements for members?
Lite and Full Fledge Pro memberships require you to have:
+ Existing print shop(s) hosted on one of our partner platforms
As a Launch member there aren’t any requirements outside of signing up for our service and using our order submission spreadsheet to submit your orders. Your print shop(s) can be hosted on any platform (even if outside of our partner platforms) – you can sell prints from wherever you’d like.
What does the onboarding process involve for Lite and Full Fledge Pro?
After you register your Lite or Full Fledge Pro membership, onboarding with Pigeon Printhouse is simple:
Step 1: One of our flock members will be in touch within 24-hours with next steps, which includes completing a small onboarding packet.
Step 2: You will share the image file(s) with PPH that we will need on-hand to fulfill any incoming print orders for you.
Step 3: You’ll follow provided instructions to give API access to your website(s) incoming order data – for nearly every platform, this process is super simple. This API access allows us to receive pertinent order data to fulfill and ship your orders accurately.
After completing the integration process, PPH will immediately assume responsibility for your print order fulfillment, and will begin receiving and fulfilling your orders – and you can sit back and watch your print shop fly!
What does the onboarding process involve for Launch members?
After you register your Full Fledge Launch membership, onboarding with Pigeon Printhouse is simple, too:
Step 1: One of our flock members will be in touch within 24-hours with next steps, which includes completing and signing a few onboarding documents.
Step 2: You will share the image file(s) with PPH that you offer in your print shop(s).
Step 3: You will be sent our Order Submission Spreadsheet which you’ll use whenever you need to submit orders to PPH.
At this point, PPH will be ready to begin receiving and fulfilling your order submissions!
What does the Full Fledge Pro membership fee cover?
The membership fee for Full Fledge Pro gives you access to our automated, print-on-demand dropship services for multiple websites or one premium website. The fee covers ongoing administrative costs, and it enables our backend software to maintain connection to your website(s).
Why is there a 25 print sales minimum for Lite and Full Fledge Pro?
As a family-owned business, we’ve built Pigeon Printhouse on our passion to help artists pursue their dreams and share their art with the world. We wish we could provide free automated services across the board, but every print shop we connect to via API comes at a cost to PPH. So, in order to automate a print shop with Lite and Pro memberships, there is a 25 prints sold per month (on average) requirement.
(NOTE: If you’d like to automate your print shop, but you don’t currently sell 25 prints or more per month, we do have a “direct connect” option for our Lite membership. This option does require you to provide our team with your login information to your website. The reason for this is, the “direct connect” route bypasses our API software – and therefore the monthly cost for PPH – and connects directly to our order fulfillment software, which establishes its connection to your shop on the authority of your login credentials. So, if you’d like to automate your print shop and are okay with sharing this confidential information with our team, you’re welcome to sign-up for Lite and we’ll “direct connect.”)
What does “25 print sales” mean?
25 print sales refers to the number of individual *prints* sold per month. It does not mean 25 total orders.
For example, if an order you receive includes five prints, then you’d have 20 prints (about) left to sell during that calendar month to meet the requirement for Full Fledge Lite and Pro. There are no penalties for not hitting or exceeding the 25 print sales per month.
How long after I register my membership will my print shop be automated?
Regardless what option you choose, Pigeon Printhouse can get your print shop automated within 2-business days or less. Because the onboarding process does require your participation, meeting this window involves you completing a few given tasks in a timely manner (i.e. completing the integration process, providing PPH with hi res image files, etc).
Will Pigeon Printhouse white-label my orders?
Yes! Print-on-demand dropship orders from Pigeon Printhouse never include any PPH branding. That means the order slip won’t contain PPH information, and there will be zero PPH branding inserted into the package. Every package will appear as though it came directly from you 🙂
Does PPH have a set turnaround time for orders?
Yes! Pigeon Printhouse will produce and ship your orders within 2 to 4 business days. So, if you make a sale on a Thursday, we will print and ship that order between Monday or Wednesday of the following week.
What are the image file requirements I should be aware of?
Pigeon Printhouse recommends exclusively using JPG/JPEG and TIFF files that are high resolution, formatted to sRGB, and an adequate pixel size for the prints you wish to sell, with at least 300 DPI.
We do not recommend using image files that were artificially enlarged. When an image file is edited to a larger size artificially, it is likely to have poor print outcomes.
To know if your image files are sufficient for the largest print size(s) you wish to order, divide your image file’s width (in pixels) by 300 and repeat for the height. Example: If your image file is 4800px by 6000px at 300 DPI, the largest recommended print size to ensure the highest quality would be 16”x20”.
By ordering prints through Pigeon Printhouse you confirm you understand the following: (1) it is your responsibility to provide Pigeon Printhouse with image files that follow these recommendations. (2) Pigeon Printhouse is not liable for any poor quality in the appearance of your final prints (i.e. pixelated, blurriness, etc) if it is due to the image file that is sent to us. (3) Pigeon Printhouse will not fulfill print orders that contain nudity or pornographic content – we have the right to deny fulfilling any order at our discretion.
What size prints can Pigeon Printhouse fulfill?
Pigeon Printhouse can currently produce prints within a 43″ wide by up to 54″ long size. We hope to add even larger scale prints in the future.
How does Pigeon Printhouse package prints?
Pigeon Printhouse provides premium packaging on all orders, to ensure damaged shipments are as unlikely as possible.
Prints that are 12″x12″/11″x14″ and smaller are inserted into acid-free, sealed art bags, and are shipped flat, in recycled, Kraft, rigid stay-flat mailers.
Larger prints are rolled and protected with glassine paper. It is then inserted into a protective sleeve, which is then inserted into a heavy-duty mailing tube.
Whew! All that to say… we package your prints to give your customers a consistent and exceptional experience every time!
Can Pigeon Printhouse add my signature to the back of my POD prints?
Yes, we can add your print to the back of your POD prints!
Pigeon Printhouse does not use the printing process to add signatures to the back of prints, rather you, the artist, can either send us a self-inking stamp of your signature OR our team can order a self-inking stamp from our preferred partner (and we will bill you for it at-cost on your first invoice). We then hand-stamp the back of every print, by default in the bottom right corner. This provides a beautiful reproduction of your signature!
Can Pigeon Printhouse add my branding to my POD packages?
Yes! You’re welcome to send us thank you postcards, complimentary stickers/flat items, etc. that we can keep on-hand to insert into your orders. This service comes at no cost to you – we happily do this for you for free! 🙂
We do ask each artist/photographer who sends us branding items to maintain the responsibility of keeping track of each item’s inventory. So, simply keeping note of how many of each item you’ve sent us vs how many print orders we’ve fulfilled for you. That way when we’re getting low you’re aware that a restock is needed. We do our best to inform you when items are running low, but due to all the moving parts of our operation, we think its safest to ask that you maintain responsibility for this.
What will I be invoiced for on a weekly basis?
Pigeon Printhouse sends weekly invoices/receipts for any orders we’ve received for you during the previous week. You won’t receive an invoice if there were no orders received for you during the previous billing period.
Weekly invoices are in addition to the monthly/annual Pro membership dues – this is not relevant for Launch or Lite members
Are there restrictions to what types of art/photography Pigeon Printhouse produces?
Pigeon Printhouse is a family-owned printshop, so we value maintain family values, including in what we prints we produce in our studio. Pigeon Printhouse does not provide service for prints that contain nudity, sexually explicity content, or art/photography that is pornographic in nature. This is a strict, non-negotiable policy. Pigeon Printhouse has the right to deny fulfilling any order at its own discretion.
